It seems the battle for the future of the Newcastle Knights is far from over, with those behind the alternative Patrons Trust ownership model scheduling a last minute meeting for tonight, in an effort to sway members ahead of Thursday’s privatisation vote.
Last night, Nathan Tinkler did his best to try and get his deal over the line.
“This is one of the ways that I see of giving back to a community that not only do I live in, but I feel gives back to me.”
The majority of the 800-strong crowd appeared supportive, but Mr Tinkler still faces a nervous 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the Knights captain feels the deal will go through.
“There’s always that little bit of doubt I think the members are well informed now about the deal. I think they’re going to make the right decision.”
