Candidates in the New South Wales election must be wondering if they’re cursed, with another caught up in a road incident.
Steve Bromhead, who’s vying for the seat of Myall Lakes, was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital after a head-on collision at Hallidays Point.
Police believe his van collided with a car while turning off the Lakes Way.
The Nationals candidate is now recovering from surgery on a serious leg injury, while the four occupants of the other vehicle are in a stable condition.
Retiring member John Turner has stepped in to campaign for Mr Bromhead.
