MEETING OVER NOISE MAPS

The Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, David Feeney, has met with residents’ groups concerned about the noise impact of the incoming Joint Strike Fighter.

Port Stephens locals say there’s been a lack of community consultation over noise exposure maps.

They also claim building restrictions attached to the maps are affecting property values.

Federal member for Patterson, Bob Baldwin, says he was excluded from the meeting, and is pushing for an extension to the environmental impact statement assessment period.
