Both sides of politics will have their say over the milk price war in Parliament tomorrow.
Federal Member for Page, Janelle Saffin is backing a private members bill calling on the ACCC to immediately investigate the big supermarkets, to ensure they don’t have too much market power.
While Ms Saffin acknowledges the one-dollar a litre deal is great for consumers, she’s concerned it’s not sustainable for the local dairy industry in the long term.
“Locally it can have a serious impact on our whole industry base, it is one of our most important industres and that could see some people go out of business”
Around eight MP’s are expected to express support for the bill.
