GRAFTON BRIDGE SUBMISSIONS

Residents and businesses in Grafton have until next Tuesday to make comments on a proposed second crossing of the Clarence River.

The Roads and Traffic Authority has responded to public concerns about the location of a new bridge.

Residents and the council want the bridge to be located downstream from the existing bridge to avoid traffic congestion in the city centre.

The RTA has sent survey forms to 8000 households and businesses.

A further telephone survey will be conducted in coming months to gather more information for the later stages of the project.
