More details have emerged surrounding the discovery of two decomposed bodies at a property at Rathmines in Lake Macquarie.
The body of a woman, aged in her 50s, was found inside the Knebworth Grove home on Wednesday, while the remains of a man were discovered in the garage.
Police say post mortem results have indicated the woman died after being hit in the head with a blunt instrument, while the man took his own life.
They’re now treating the case as a murder-suicide, and are yet to formally identify the couple.
