OUTTERIDGE ALMOST UNBEATABLE AT MOTH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Lake Macquarie’s Nathan Outteridge has blown away the competition at the International Moth World Championships, winning eight of the nine qualifying races.

Competitors were back on the water this afternoon, looking to score vital points ahead of the finals, which begin tomorrow.

Australians have so far dominated the event, with Gosford sailors Joe Turner and Tom Slingsby consistently finishing in the top three.

New Zealand’s Peter Burling is also one to watch, he finished second overall, just a few points behind Outteridge.

Not everyone enjoyed smooth sailing today, but Outteridge’s regular partner in the 49er’s, Iain Jensen, proved he’s up for the challenge.
