COUNCILS IDENTIFY TOP PRIORITY COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Five Northern Rivers councils have identified their top priority community projects to be lobbied to Regional Development Australia.

Lismore, Kyogle and Clarence Valley councils are looking for a combined $14.1 million dollars to upgrade key buildings in their shires, while Richmond Valley and Ballina councils are hoping for $6.5 million to beautify their streets and parks.

The push comes as the Federal Government increases funding to Regional Australia under an agreement with the federal independent MPs.
