A discount food store has opened on the Tweed, catering to a growing number of people who can’t make ends meet.

  1. what the news article failed to mention is that a) the food is not free it is reduced cost, b) IT IS OUT OF DATE in fact everything other than the juice which cost $2 a litre was long out of date the margarine was 5 months out of date cake was 1 month out of date breakfast cereal out of dateso on and so forth,c) they were selling meat pies and sausage rolls frozen without packaging which I am certain would have alerted buyers to the expiry date is that even legal??? the meat well thats a frightening prospect they were being sold frozen without the original labels also.
    Are our elderly and needy not worthy of in date food? it is a disgrace that they were being made to pay for food that shouldnt even have been given away!!!!!
