Meanwhile, up to 8,000 cyclists hit the region’s roads and busways today,in Queensland’s biggest bike ride.
The Santos GLNG Brisbane to the Gold Coast Cycle Challenge saw riders travel 100 kilometres to raise money for the Heart Foundation.
“Today we’ve raisied about 100 thousand for this years ride and hope to raise close to a quarter of a million this year.”
It’s certainly a popular cause – the event also boasted more pedallers than in 2012.
