WATER HEADS TO BOGGABRI

The flood situation has significantly eased across the north west, with the peak of the Namoi River failing to reach expected heights overnight.

The river peaked at 7.1 metres in Gunnedah around 10pm, just below minor flood level.

Slow to fall, it was still sitting at 6.7 metres at mid morning today.

The peak inundated low lying reserves along the river, however it wasn’t enough to close Cohen’s Bridge as forecast.

The river is expected to peak at 6.8 metres at Boggabri tomorrow morning, causing some local road closures, before reaching Wee Waa on Thursday.
