4 people have been injured, when a 14 metre sportcruiser ran aground on a sand bank in Lake Macquarie around 7am.
3 people were airlifted from the vessel and another brought ashore by a police launch.
The boat had been part of a fleet of cruisers visiting from the Royal Motor yacht club at Pittwater.
Strong westerly winds hindered the rescue operation.
