SWANSEA SKATE WORK IN PIPELINE
Work will start later this month on a controversial $700,000 skate park in Swansea.
The facility, approved for Chapman Oval in the suburb’s north, had been on the drawing board for more than 10 years.
The channel-front site was chosen despite nearby residents’ concerns the 55-metre complex was too big and would attract anti-social behaviour.
The work is part of a $3-million upgrade of the sporting grounds.
