Workers escaped injury after routine maintenance at the One Steel plant at Waratah went horribly wrong this morning.
Flames engulfed the cooling tower of the grinding mill at around 10 o’clock, prompting the evacuation of 200 workers.
The company says the blaze caused minor damage, but it’s not expected to delay operations.
