A rock fisherman has survived being washed into the ocean at Frazer Park, south of Newcastle.
The 18-year-old Sydney man of Indian descent spent around 20 minutes in the water, before being rescued by a swimmer and brought ashore.
Westpac Rescue Helicopter pilots say the fisherman is lucky to be alive, as he also hit his head on rocks.
