SEARCHERS FIND BODIES OF THREE MORE ANGLERS
Searchers have found the bodies of another three anglers who were swept in the sea near Catherine Hill Bay south of Newcastle.
The body of a fourth angler, a woman, was found around 4pm on Monday, and authorities are searching for a fifth.
The bodies were found around 11am in the Flat Rock area near Catherine Hill Bay.
The group comprising two couples from Sydney and one of their sons got into difficulty while rock fishing on Sunday night.
The group – three men and two women aged between 25 and 63 –
failed to return to their Sydney homes after a fishing trip on
Sunday.
The body of a middle-aged woman was found at about 4pm (AEST) on
Monday.
Three men’s bodies were located on Tuesday morning.
“About 10.50am (Tuesday) police recovered the bodies of three
men in the Flat Rock area, south of Catherine Hill Bay,” police
said in a statement.
“The three bodies recovered are believed to be the anglers who
went missing whilst rock fishing on Sunday.
“The bodies were recovered a short distance from where a woman
was located deceased 4pm (AEST) (Monday).”
