To surf life saving, and the Hunter has fallen just short of the podium, at the New South Wales Interbranch Championships at Blacksmiths Beach.
Sydney’s Northern Beaches just finished ahead of its cross-town rivals, while the Central Coast was third.
But in a boost for the Hunter, Cooks Hill’s Allira Richardson was named in the state rep team.
Richardson was one of the standout competitors at Blacksmiths, and will now compete at the Interstate Championships at Newport Beach on January 23.
