Newcastle has cleaned up at the Northern NSW State girls football titles, taking out both under 12 and under 14 divisions.
The championship event saw 14 teams from seven zones spend three days contesting the round-robin event in Coffs Harbour.
This morning the North Coast under 12s played Macquarie, taking the largest winning margin of the Championship, 6 points to 1.
But organisers say games have been fiercely contested across the board.
“Competition has been very close particularly in the 14s,and it was only up until this morning we could recognise who the winner’s going to be, other than that there’s been 4 teams in that group who any one of them could’ve won the competition.”
Preparation is now underway in Coffs Harbour for the FFA’s National Boys Championship being staged next week.
