Manning River boaties are being warned to take care around the south-eastern tip of Oxley Island, where siltation and sand build-up have made the navigation channel unsafe.
The New South Wales Maritime Authority says the channel, which used to exist between the Cowan’s Lane pontoon and Charlie’s Island, is now too shallow for all vessels.
The area has been identified as a high priority for dredging, but in the meantime river users are being advised to take extreme care.
