FIRE FIGHTERS HONOURED FOR DELIVERING A BABY
Three firefighters from Sydney have been honoured for helping to deliver a baby on the side of the Pacific Highway, on the mid north coast last month.
Jodie Gardner was on her way to hospital in Port Macquarie, when she started having contractions.
Her friend flagged down a passing bus, which just happened to contain 25 firefighters on their way to a bucks weekend.
We had some surfboards and boogie boards set up to give her some shade, we got towels and ice and directed the traffic and it was really really good.
The healthy baby boy was eventually named Nathan Robert Joseph Gardner, in honour of the firies heavily involved in his birth.
Jodie now plans to thank them in person.
Take them down a carton of beer or something for them to enjoy and just to say thank you because I haven’t got to see them since I’ve had him.
