78 National Foods employees are expected to lose their jobs over the next 12 months, after the company today announced that it’s phasing out production at its Hexham manufacturing plant.
Dairy products including thickened cream are being manufactured there, but the company says the decision will help it to remain viable in the long term.
National Foods will open a new distribution centre at Hexham in November.
