Demolition work is underway at the Wauchope-Bonny Hills Surf Club to make room for a new building.
The ailing structure will be replaced by a two-storey, multi-purpose facility, which has been funded under the federal government’s infrastructure program.
The new clubhouse will feature an outdoor dining area, auditorium, first aid room and caretaker’s residence.
It’s expected to be operational by June next year.
