Gosford City Council wants to save Somersby Plateau from any form of mining, and is seeking the support of the State Planning Minister, Kristina Keneally, to ensure it happens.
The minister recently rejected a plan to establish a sandmine at Somersby, a decision which was 13 years in the making.
