Green thumbs on the mid north coast are being encouraged to pursue planting on a grand scale.
Courses in private native forestry are being offered to landholders and contractors interested in establishing forests.
Among the topics covered are soil, water and biodiversity protection.
The workshops, being offered through TAFE, will be held at Taree, Kempsey, Grafton and Casino over the next four months.
560 private native forests, covering more than 100,000 hectares, have already been established on the north coast.
