GRAIN TRUCK BOTTLENECK
Concerns have been raised about the length of time truck drivers are being forced to wait at the Port of Newcastle.
Inverell-based senator, John Williams, has told a Senate estimates hearing there can be a 16-hour waiting time to unload grain.
He believes congestion at Graincorp’s Newcastle export terminal is likely to continue, until there are more trains to transport grain.
A federal government taskforce is investigating the operation of the New South Wales rail freight network.
