TAHU’S TRIUMPHANT RETURN

Former rugby league star Timana Tahu made a promising return to rugby for the Waratahs in their trial match against Fiji in Newcastle.

On his old stomping ground, Tahu showed little effect of his latest hamstring problem by scoring the first try against Fiji and setting up another for Lote Tuqiri.

It was the first hit out for a number of Wallabies, including Maitland’s Luke Burgess who played his first top class game of rugby on what woul dbe considered his ‘home’ ground as well.

The Tahs ran out comfortable 60 – nil winners against a Fijian team dominated by youth.
