CONFIRMATION MULLEN’S B-SAMPLE TESTS POSITIVE FOR ANABOLIC STEROID
The NRL has issued Newcastle Knights player Jarrod Mullen with a notice, following confirmation his B-sample tested positive for an anabolic steroid.
The Notice of Alleged Anti-Doping Rule Violations claims Mullen breached the sporting body’s Anti-Doping Policy through the presence and use of Drostanolone, which is prohibited.
He was tested by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority on November 29 last year and has been provisionally suspended from rugby league since January 17, after his A-sample returned a positive result.
“We obviously remain disappointed with what has transpired but we will continue to respect the process and monitor Jarrod’s welfare,” said Knights CEO Matt Gidley.
Mullen now has the chance to respond to the notice.
