WALLARAH 2 COAL MINE APPEAL THROWN OUT

A legal bid to stop the contentious Wallarah 2 coal mine on the Central Coast has been dismissed on all counts.
Late on Friday, the Land and Environment Court threw out the Australian Coal Alliance’s case against the project, including concerns over water treatment.
Activists say they’re surprised, but will push ahead with plans to appeal.
It’s the latest chapter in a 20 year campaign to prevent the $800 million long wall mine from going ahead at Bushells Ridge.
