Newcastle Jets star Emile Heskey is in doubt for the club’s A-League opener against Sydney FC on October 11 after suffering a knee injury in a pre season trial this afternoon.
The marquee player injured his left knee during the first half of the trial held behind closed doors at AAMI Park against Melbourne Victory
Heskey will have scans tomorrow.
New recruit Nathan Burns will also have scans after experiencing hamstring tightness in the warm-up.
The Jets won the game 1-0 care of a second half penalty converted by James Virgili.
