A 66-year-old Windale man has been arrested and is assisting police with their inquiries after a woman’s body was found at Lake Macquarie this morning.
A member of the public made the discovery in the Bangalay Reserve at Windale at around 6:30.
The woman’s death is being treated as suspicious, detectives from the state’s Homicide Squad are assisting the investigation.
Police arrested the man on Myall Road at Cardiff just before midday.
