WARBIRD’S NEW LEASE ON LIFE

A famed World War II Catalina warbird, which is bound for museum restoration, today touched down in Coffs Harbour.

The aircraft was recently uncovered in Europe and is now on route to Rathmines, the former home of the Catalinas in Australia, where it will become a display piece.

The aircraft will touch down in Port Macquarie tomorrow, before flying to Sydney to be restored at Bankstown Airport.
