Former Central Coast Mariners coach, Lawrie McKinna has been successful in his bid to become Gosford’s mayor, being elected by council tonight.
He won the vote 6 to 3.
He spoke to NBN last week about what led him to throw his hat in the ring.
“I’ve never been scared to make hard decisions before and it’s, I’ll make hard decisions and I’ve put my hand up and the big thing I see in the mayor’s job is working with the council and doing the best thing for the city.”
He is also the Director of Football for the Central Coast Mariners.
