MAN ROWS FOR 30 HOURS AS A RECORD ‘WARM-UP’

A Broadbeach man is having a well earned rest tonight after rowing for 30 hours this weekend.

Stuart Cleary set himself a 36-hour challenge, but had to cut it short due to injury.

We caught up with the 51-year-old at the 27 hour mark.

Got a few blisters, a few aches and pains, but still going strong, having my second wind at the moment.”

The challenge was practice ahead of future world record attempts, including crossing the Tasman and circumnavigating New Zealand solo in a kayak.
