Lismore council will retain all 11 councillors after last night voting against a recommendation to reduce that number to seven.
A positive vote would have saved almost $87,000 a year, but Council decided to maintain the status quo, saying more councillors improve the diversity of opinion and knowledge.
The decision was unanimous.
