Macy Callaghan is one win away from her world tour dream, after blitzing her round six heat at the season-ending Port Stephens Pro. The 17-year-old almost doubled her opponents total score, to progress through to the quarter finals. She needed at least a 5th place finish to put herself in the frame for next year’s tour… But could well post a result beyond that. (VISION ONLY)

MACY BACKS UP KIAMA WIN AT CARVE PRO

Newly crowned junior surfing champion Macy Callaghan has backed up her Kiama win and taken out the Carve Pro at Maroubra today. The Avova champ came into the QS 1,000 event as the number two seed. Callaghan carved up an impressive total of 17 in the finals, ahead almost three points from runner up Kobie Enright. It’s a positive start to the year for the Central Coast teen, who will contest another QS event in Queensland later this year.

WILKO ADVANCES AT OZ OPEN

Central Coast competitors have had a mixed day at the Australian Open of Surfing at Manly. Wade Carmichael and Macy Callaghan both suffered agonising defeats, while Surfest winner Matt Wilkinson continued his charge – advancing to Round Five.

CALLAGHAN CONTINUES CHARGE AT SURFEST

Macy Callaghan has advanced to Round Six at Surfest. In challenging onshore conditions, the Avoca teenager posted the highest individual score – an 8.77, finishing second behind Frenchwoman Johanne Defay, with former World Junior Champion Laura Enever eliminated from the contest. Callaghan will now face Victorian Nikki Van Dijk….with the winner guaranteed a Quarter-Final berth.
