BLACK DIAMOND GOAL OF YEAR??

Despite a narrow loss to Cardiff in Round 10 of the Black Diamond AFL, Killarney Vale Coach and star forward Scott Reed has a continued his outstanding form. The former Collingwood Magpie booted four for the day; but it was this audacious attempt late in the first term that could be a contender for Goal of The Year. In a see-sawing contest, the Bombers led by 14 at quarter-time, then trailed The Hawks at halftime; went to the final break with a three point advantage, before going down by 11.

LLOYD MAKES DREAM DEBUT FOR GIANTS

Former Killarney Vale Bombers forward Daniel Lloyd had 17 disposals on debut for The Giants at the weekend. The 25 year-old narrowly missed a set shot from right on the 50 metre arc in the second quarter; At the 11-minute mark of the third term; a moment to savour, with his first AFL goal. BISHOP BOWS OUT

A surprise announcement in the Black Diamond AFL today with Terrigal Avoca’s Chris Bishop stepping down after nine years at the helm. The 33 year-old, who won three premierships, will continue to play for the club, but he now has ambitions to coach at the elite level.

Terrigal Avoca will celebrate its 40th anniversary with new facilities. The Panthers also welcome back club stalwart Pete Van Dam, who’ll line up on the Half Forward Flank in the match of the round against Killarney Vale.
