FOUR CHILDREN INJURED FOLLOWING EXPLOSION
Four children have suffered burns following an explosion at a home near Bulahdelah last night.
Just after 7 o’clock, officers attached to Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command were called to Curlew Crescent in Nerong.
Police have been told four children were playing in the front yard of a home, when an explosion occurred, believed to have been caused from fuel igniting.
Two boys, aged 13, suffered serious burns to their chest, arms, face and legs. They were airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital.
An 11-year-old boy and 12-year-old boy suffered burns to their feet. They were taken to John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
Police believe the children were playing with the petrol, used in a toy boat.
