Mark Wade has denied rumours of a switch to the Wanderers ahead of the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby season.
Wade admits he was approached by the club, and several others, three weeks ago – but will stay with Merewether.
The 22-year-old has been a sought-after player across two codes.
He was signed by Wayne Bennett at the Knights, but turned his back on a lucrative league contract last May, to return to the Greens.
