F3 REOPENS AFTER BUSHFIRE CLOSED BOTH LANES

Traffic on the F3 through Wyong is returning to normal levels after the freeway was shut following a bushfire this afternoon.

All lanes of the F3 are open in both directions but there is still some smoke in the area.

The freeway was closed both ways between Wyong and Warnervale with the fire close to the road.

  1. I fear we tend to close major roads a little too prematurely in Australia. Smoke reduces visibility panic panic, but so does torrential rain on the freeway – particularly in daylight hours, let alone a seasonal heavy fog event, or fog resulting from afternoon summer rainfall or when driving on gravel/dust roads – conditions whre we do not close the road. Such is rear fog light weather – DON’T buy a car unless it has a rear fog! 🙂 And you RFS & NSWFB tenders have a single rear fog as standard equipment; ffs – use the bloody thing when your in bushfire smoke – it out performs the high-powered flashers mounted up on high – buried deeper into the smoke. What the hell is it with this place?! End rant….

  2. Rabid Cat, what are you on about? I am A RFS firie, I was at this incident ( I m sure that was my tanker shown going along the brake down lane). Rear fog? We dont have rear fogs. and they are not tenders, bush appliances are tankers and urban are pumpers. One reason why its blocked is idiots would panic( people have a fear of being fried) if the flames jumped and speed and cause a crash , plus also we stopped a truck with a load of liquid oxygen on board, what would happen if that caught alight Rabid Cat? You simply do not have a clue whay you are talking about
