UTE DRIVER FLOWN TO LISMORE HOSPITAL AFTER COLLISION

The driver of the dual-cab utility was trapped for more than half an hour after his vehicle allegedly crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided with a truck.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was freed from the upturned utility and flown by the rescue helicopter to Lismore Base Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are seeking witnesses to the crash, which happened just after 11.30 on the Armidale Road.
