Concerns are held for a young girl missing on the Gold Coast. The 12-year-old was was last seen walking along George Street in Southport around 5pm yesterday. She is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a slim build, blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing a black jumper and denim shorts.

GOLD COAST BOAT COLLISION CLAIMS WOMAN’S LIFE

A woman has died in a boat collision on the Gold Coast. Police say around 5:30pm yesterday, a tinny turned into the path of a large cruiser near Couran Cove at Broadwater causing the two boats to collide. A 33-year-old Brisbane woman in the smaller boat died at the scene. A second person on the smaller boat, a 41-year-old man, received a head injury and was taken to hospital in a stable condition. No one on the larger vessel was injured.

CANNABIS SEIZED IN GOLD COAST RAID

Five men on the Gold Coast have been charged over the alleged discovery of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Police executed a search warrant at a Bardon Avenue address in Miami around 5pm yesterday, where they allegedly located the cannabis plants and drug use items. The five men, aged between 18 and 26, were charged with a range of offences including possess a dangerous drug, and produce a dangerous drug. The men are due to face the Southport Magistrates Court in a fortnight.

12-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER ALLEGED GOLD COAST HOLD UP

A 12-year-old boy has been charged over the alleged armed robbery of a Gold Coast service station. About 9.10pm last night, the boy attended the service station in Old Coach Road in Upper Coomera, and allegedly threatened staff with a knife and demanded cash. Staff complied, and he fled the store with a sum of money. The female staff member was not injured. Police located the boy shortly after at a nearby residence, and recovered all the money. He was charged with one count of armed robbery.

WRECKAGE OF MISSING PLANE DISCOVERED

Searchers have discovered the body of a missing pilot on the NSW far north coast, with the wreckage of his ultra light plane located this morning. The plane was found on a private property around 9am at Limpinwood, about 25-kilometres west of Murwillumbah. An extensive air and land search has been underway since Tuesday morning, after a member of the public reported witnessing an aircraft in trouble near Limpinwood. The 72-year-old pilot had taken off from Murwillumbah Airport at around 10am that day. An operation is now underway to retrieve his body, while an investigation has been launched into the cause of the crash.

TRIO ASSAULT 17-YEAR-OLD ON THE GOLD COAST

A teenage girl on the Gold Coast has been assaulted and robbed. Just after 5pm yesterday, the 17-year-old was walking north along the Gold Coast Highway in Surfers Paradise, when she was assaulted from behind by three females who were at the time, riding past on bicycles. The victim was knocked to the ground after being punched to the head, and had her phone and wallet stolen. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information into the incident is urged to contact police.

TEENAGERS CHARGED OVER ALLEGED SOUTHPORT ASSAULT

Four teenagers have been charged over a violent robbery on the Gold Coast. Just after 9pm last night, three boys approached two men sitting at a table outside a restaurant on Nerang Street in Southport. The group then became involved in an altercation. A 22-year-old man was allegedly threatened with a knife, assaulted, and had his phone stolen. A 27-year-old man was also allegedly assaulted, and had a tablet computer and wallet stolen. The group then fled the scene on foot. Four boys, two aged 16, a 15-year-old, and a 14-year-old, were located a short time later by police. Each have been charged in relation to the incident. The 22-year-old man was transported to hospital with lacerations to his head and hand. The 27-year-old was treated on scene for minor injuries.

BURNT OUT CAR LINKED TO HOME INVASION

It’s been discovered that an abandoned and burnt out vehicle on the Gold Coast was stolen during a burglary on the weekend. Emergency services responded to reports of a car fire on Kopps Road in Pacific Pines around 9.20pm on Monday. The fire was extinguished and a search revealed a firearm and ammunition inside the car. Police say the Chrysler sedan was stolen from a Gunther Street home on Sunday. During the burglary, two men also assaulted a 30-year-old woman. She was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. Police believe the burglary was targeted, and the men were known to the residents.

WEAPONS AND DRUGS ALLEGEDLY DISCOVERED IN GOLD COAST VEHICLE SEARCH

Police have allegedly uncovered knives, knuckledusters, a rifle, and drugs during a search of a vehicle on the Gold Coast yesterday. Officers were conducting targeted patrols in Nerang, when they intercepted an unregistered Toyota Hilux on Southport Nerang Road around 7:30pm. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police allege they discovered an amount of drugs including cocaine and methylamphetamine, along with a number of knives, knuckledusters, a rifle and ammunition. A 31-year-old man from Burleigh has been charged with 12 offences including weapons and drug possession. A 21-year-old Gaven woman was issued with a Notice to Appear for with unlawful possession of a weapon.
