Two former senior police officers have formally pleaded not guilty to robbing the Nimbin Hotel in June 2006.
Wayne Duckworth and former rugby league player Brett Gale fronted the Lismore District Court today for the start of their two-week trial.
Duckworth, who was the hotel manager at the time of the robbery, claimed he was threatened at gun-point and abducted.
But in a twist, he was later charged with the theft along with his mate Brett Gale.
The jury is expected to be empanelled on Wednesday.
