Fire crews have been battling a blaze inside a chemist on Maitland Road.
The fire started in the Chemist Warehouse outlet on the corner of Maitland Road and Church Street around 4pm.
Police blocked off Maitland Road due to thick smoke coming from the building.
All staff have been accounted for.
