The fundraising campaign is called “Everyday Hero” and that certainly fits Cheyne (SHANE) Waddingham, who finished a five-day run with his mates yesterday raising $20,000 for the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
He was inspired Charlie Carr, who’s been battling a rare form of cancer for seven years.
“She’s done it a lot tougher then we’ve done the past five days, all we had to do was think about her and that got us through.”
“She has no choice what she goes through, but they had a choice to do this. Yeah it’s amazing. They’re just wonderful people. Really selfless.”
