JOYCE FOCUSES ON CAMPAIGN AFTER LEAVING SENATE

Today marked an unusual milestone for Barnaby Joyce.

It was the New England candidate’s first day of unemployment, with his term as a Queensland Senator ending yesterday.
The hot favourite in the race for Tony Windsor’s former seat, Mr Joyce says his attention is now entirely focused on campaigning.

“You can be confident, but never cocky. If people smell conceit on you, they have a great remedy for that at the ballot box.”

Mr Joyce says he’s predicting a Coalition win come September 7.

“You have to believe in your product, and I believe that the policy position and the management critique of the Coalition is more substantial than the Labor Party. I think the Australian people will see that as well.”
