REMOTE FIRES IN GLOUCESTER REGION BEING CONTAINED
More than 100 firefighters are working to contain two remote bushfires in the Gloucester area.
A blaze at Barnards Giro, that started a few weeks ago has now tore through more than 14,000 hectares.
While, a smaller fire is still burning at Mount Mooney.
“Certainly fire activity will increase over the fire ground as we see some warmer temperatures and low humidity towards the end of the week, but we are expecting further storms on the weekend which will can give us further fires from lightening strikes,” superintendent Kam Baker says.
No properties are under direct threat at this stage.
