A man is facing court today charged with the murder of a 52-year-old man in Tamworth.
Police were called to the scene of a brawl on Goonoo Goonoo Road at Tamworth on Friday evening.
There, they found a man with a head wound. He refused treatment and was driven by police to his nearby home.
On Saturday afternoon, the man went to Tamworth Base Hospital where it was discovered he had significant internal injuries. He died a few hours later.
A police strike force was set up with detectives later arresting a 37-year-old male and a 38-year-old woman in a unit on Bilkurra Avenue. The man was charged with murder and assault occasioning death. The woman was released without being charged.
