BANGALOW’S BUILDINGS PROTECTED
Byron Shire Council is assuring Bangalow residents that its heritage buildings are protected under the Local Environment Plan.
The potential sale of the town’s ‘Masonic Hall’ has caused a stir within the local community, with many fearful that renovation of the iconic building will lead to it losing its heritage listing.
But council is adamant the community doesn’t need to worry, saying under its environment plan, heritage buildings can not be demolished, renovated or developed without its approval.
