7 MUSTANGS SUSPENDED OVER RUGBY LEAGUE BRAWL

Seven Macleay Valley Mustangs have been suspended over the recent brawl during a Group Two rugby league game with the Coffs Harbour Comets.

Two of the seven players cited, Anthony Cowan and Dalwyn Vale, were handed six match suspensions.

Three other players received suspensions of three matches, while two were given one match bans.

Officials say the penalties were reduced because the players pleaded guilty early and won’t have to appear before the judiciary.

The Macleay Club has been suspended for the remainder of the season.
