A 17 year old has been charged, following a police pursuit at East Maitland early this morning.
Just after 3 o’clock, police were patrolling the New England Highway when they attempted to stop a motorcycle.
The rider took off, leading police on a pursuit through the streets of East Maitland before dumping the motorcycle at Lawes Street and running off.
A dog unit attended, tracking the rider to a house in Lawes Street, where he was found hiding under the property.
The Tenambit teenager, who also had two outstanding arrest warrants, has been charged and refused bail to appear before Broadmeadow Children’s Court this morning.
